Everyone dusted off their brooms and stretched their curling muscles for the Rusty Shot bonspiel this weekend. Held over two days, with each team playing three games, it was a great way for people to get ready for the season ahead.
We offered an entry fee discount for teams who brought in new curlers, and a couple of them took us up on it. (I hope all our new curlers had a good time!) We also had curlers from St. Paul and Mankato come to play. People practiced throwing, sweeping, and some even got to try their hand at skipping.
Congratulations are in order for the Royce, Bolte, and Garbes teams for winning their events!
A big thank you goes out to our volunteers (especially our ice makers, for making this possible despite the weather-related odds!) Thank you too to anyone who stopped by to watch, donated food or auction items, and, of course, all of our curlers.
